Welcome to MedPort (accessible at medport.uk). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of MedPort (“the Service”), operated personally by the site owner (“we”, “us”, or “our”).

By creating an account or using MedPort, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Purpose of MedPort

MedPort provides a digital platform for medical students and junior doctors to track their professional development and maintain a portfolio of evidence across various domains such as research, experience, and education.

The Service is intended for educational and professional record-keeping purposes only. MedPort does not provide clinical, legal, or career advice.

2. Accounts and Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details and all activity under your account.
  • You agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information when registering.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms or is suspected of misuse.

3. Paid Plans and Billing

  • MedPort offers both free and paid subscriptions.
  • The paid plan costs £5 per year or £0.50 per month, with a 7-day free trial for new users.
  • Subscription payments are handled securely through our chosen payment processor.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time; access to paid features will continue until the end of the billing period.
  • Refunds are only provided where required by law.

4. Uploading and Data Ownership

  • You may upload documents, certificates, or other materials (“User Content”) to track your progress.
  • You retain full ownership and rights over your uploaded content.
  • By uploading, you grant MedPort a limited licence to store and display your content within your personal account for the purpose of providing the Service.
  • Your content remains private to you. You may export your portfolio as PDF or CSV files at any time.
  • You are responsible for ensuring that any uploaded material does not infringe the rights of others or contain sensitive patient information or confidential data.

5. Data Storage and Security

  • All data is securely stored using Supabase and processed via Vercel.
  • While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
  • In the unlikely event of a data breach, users will be notified in accordance with UK data protection regulations.
  • We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing or analytics.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Upload unlawful, offensive, or harmful material;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to MedPort’s systems;
  • Use MedPort for commercial or competitive purposes other than personal portfolio management.

Violation of this policy may result in suspension or permanent termination of your account.

7. Intellectual Property

  • All website content, design, and code are the intellectual property of MedPort unless otherwise stated.
  • You may not copy, modify, or redistribute any part of the Service without prior written permission.

8. Disclaimer

  • MedPort is provided “as is” and “as available”.
  • We make no guarantees that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every purpose.
  • MedPort does not provide professional advice or verify the accuracy of user-uploaded information.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any loss of data, income, or opportunity arising from the use or inability to use the Service.
  • Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the total amount you have paid for your MedPort subscription in the preceding 12 months.

10. Termination

  • You may close your account at any time.
  • We may terminate or suspend access if you breach these Terms or misuse the Service.
  • Upon termination, your stored data will be deleted after a reasonable period in line with our data retention policy.

11. Changes to These Terms

  • We may update these Terms periodically.
  • Material changes will be notified via email or on the website.
  • Continued use of MedPort after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

  • These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
  • Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
